Just a little update
My friend Julie asked in the comments section of my previous post if I was going to have this baby at home. The answer is that Lord willing, yes, this little one will be born at home. I haven't said anything about it, but oh I am so very excited. I detest being in a hospital and so this will make the labor and birth so much less stressful for me.

We have big plans for the backyard and so I am busy trying to iron out what exactly I want. Our home is on a tiny lot; when you have a 3000 square foot home on a tiny lot, it leaves a very small backyard. There are no trees in the backyard and so there is no shade. During the summer it is brutal and so my husband and I are thinking of putting up a gazebo in the back. A little kiddie pool and a small swing set will make the backyard crowded, but at least the children will have somewhere to play outside instead of being cooped up inside all day. The neighborhood pool will be finished come summer as well, so we'll have that bit of fun, as well as my children's favorite: the sprayground.

My husband will also plant some grass seed in the back. The grass is very sparse and as we are renting this home for now, instead of doing it properly and sodding it, we'll hope that the grass seed will thicken it up back there. I hope to get some container gardening started as well.

We have great changes in our eating habits to start and we also have dedicated ourselves towards getting more exercise. This is one of the reasons that our backyard will be so "improved upon." I am not an outdoorsy person by nature, but I desperately need the sunshine and my children desperately need to get their energy out. :-)

I am also on the lookout for a nanny. We aren't sure if we'll get a mother's helper for a few hours every day or what. I know that I just need the help! Please pray about this, because I need to feel sure that the person we hire is the "right" one.

In His grace,

It sounds like you are making some great changes. I am not naturally outdoorsy, either, but fresh sunshine really feels so good. :) Is your morning sickness over now? That is always such a hard stage. Did you find a good midwife that you like? Blessings!

I am SO excited you are having a homebirth. I hope to for the next baby as well. I had Drew in the hospital here and even though they are pretty natural birth friendly, I still would much rather be at home next time.

That is great you are making so many good changes :)
