A Blustery Day
art found at art.com
As a young child, I was a huge Winnie-The-Pooh fan. While visiting us in Germany when I was around 3 or 4 years of age, my grandfather had to endure hours of Winnie-the-Pooh daily and to this day, twenty-some-odd years later, he can still recite lines and lines from the movie. If you have any experience with the ol' Pooh Bear, you will remember the scene about "Windsday."

We are experiencing a very, very windy few days here. The day calls for severe thunderstorms and strong wind gusts and hail. My poor children and I have been cooped up since Sunday afternoon and today I will rack my brain for fun, indoor ideas.

The hard part for my precious wee babes is that we bought a cheap, plastic pool on Saturday and they have only been in it once. They enjoyed the pool on Saturday afternoon in the almost 90 degree weather. Every day I hear "Mommy, can we go swimming now?" How do you explain to a 4year old, a 3 year old, and an 18 month old that the weather is too yucky when it isn't raining? They just don't follow that logic.

I have a lot of spring cleaning to do and perhaps we'll tackle that today. If I can muste the energy. I have not gained that usual 2nd trimester energy, partly I imagine because of the insomnia I have had ever since becoming pregnant. Anyone else experience this? My first three pregnancies I only experienced it late in the pregnancy. This time . . . well, let's just say, I never knew nights could be so long.

On another note, can I just rave about midwives? I have received the best prenatal care so far with this pregnancy. My appointments with my midwife are at least an hour. She is very thorough and talks to me about everything. I have to keep a food journal for her so that she knows exactly what I am eating and can push me back in the right direction if too much junk food is finding its way past my lips. She listens to the baby's heartbeat for a good minute or so. If I have an issue, such as morning sickness, etc., she has just the right remedy for it. All of my OBs would just push the whole "it is part of pregnancy. It'll be over in 9 months." I praise God for the blessing of a godly, attentive, knowledgeable midwife.

I will be making the rounds of blogland this week. I hope to see how everyone is doing and also to catch up with friends. I feel out of touch since I was not able to be online for so long. I love each and every one of you!

In His grace,

Hi K, For your sleeping problems, have you tried snooze EZ by Shonda Parker? Cathy sells it and it was a favorite of mine!

I'm in Ft. Walton Beach, FL right now and it's really windy here too!

If you're looking for ideas on things to do with the kids indoors, check out Family Corner.com. They have some great craft ideas.

Oh, I love Winnie the Pooh! I read House at Pooh Corner to the girls a few years ago and it's really wonderful, although the ending made me cry. LOL
I'm so glad to hear your midwife is a blessing! I always looked forward to the visits with mine.
Hugs,
Kelli
